This is the story of Sunshine. Like so many kittens who are born to unfixed, unwanted moms, he was fending for himself outside in Preston County with his siblings. A good samaritan noticed them and brought them to Homeward Bound WV. Little Sunshine had a definite eye infection and ulceration. We provided him anti-biotics and eye medicine, but he was not well enough or big enough to fight such a horrible infection. His eye ruptured and had to be removed. Sunshine was only 6 weeks old! Sunshine will need to have his eyelids sutured permanently shut when we are certain there is no risk of further infection and when he is big enough for the surgery. This helpless, loving little baby deserves a happy life! Homeward Bound WV is going to make sure he gets one, but we also have to deal with an expensive vet bill, both for the care he has already received, but also for the upcoming surgery and check-ups. Won’t you help Sunshine this holiday season and donate to his care? All donations are tax deductible and will go directly to medical bills.
Please check into this fundraiser regularly for updates on Sunshine and how he is progressing with just one eye. Please be aware that some of the photos we are posting are a bit graphic and may not be suitable for children. However, Sunshine’s story is not uncommon and deserves to be told. He may not look perfect, but this baby is perfect to us! Please donate today. https://www.youcaring.com/homeward-bound-wv-inc-472841. Thank you!
Update: Sunshine is such a happy little kitten! He doesn’t let the fact that he has one eye slow him down! In fact, recently, he participated in our Kitten Yoga event at Bliss, Bliss, Bliss in Morgantown, WV. He was very active and funny throughout the event. He worked so hard, he completely tired himself out (as you can see in the photos!). Sunshine will need to have his eye sutured shut during his neuter surgery – when he is big enough – and in the meantime, he has a very busy schedule: playing, eating, pouncing, chasing toy mice, wrestling with his foster siblings, snuggling with his foster mom, and snoozing. What a sweet little boy our Sunshine is! Please consider donating toward his care today…all donations are 100% tax deductible!
