In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, we are introducing you to the current mothers of Homeward Bound WV. Every mom needs a little recognition! We are pleased to bring you the fourth, and final, day of this series.
On occasion, we are asked to take in motherless kittens and puppies. These animals are too young to be away from their mothers, but have been found alone. In the wild, animals face many dangers like other animals, vehicles and disease. Currently, we have two kittens in foster care that were found without their moms, Mulligan and Vincent.
Mulligan was found in the middle of a busy road with his eyes very badly infected. After twenty-seven days of antibiotic treatment, some days treatment was every 2-4 hours around the clock, we are happy to report that his eyes are perfectly normal!
Vincent was found as a tiny baby who still should have been nursing from his mother. We have several human foster moms who take these babies and bottle feed them. “Bottle-babies” are very labor intensive and require feeding every two hours minimum.
The dedication of our human foster moms is the reason Homeward Bound, WV is able to save these precious lives. We thought that Mother’s Day is the perfect day to say thank you to them!
All of our cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCPP, dewormed for internal parasites, checked for external parasites, current on heartworm prevention/flea control and have been spayed/neutered.
If you interested in Mulligan or Vincent, fill out the adoption application here >> http://www.homewardboundwv.org or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Please note that neither Mulligan or Vincent are ready to go to their new homes yet, but you can apply to adopt them.
