“Hi, my name is Hazel! I got my name because I was found at the Hazelton Penitentiary. A very kind person was mowing the grass when suddenly I appeared! I jumped right in front of the mower and said ‘save me!’ I’m not sure if they understood me, but it worked. They scooped me up and brought me to Homeward Bound WV. I was very scared, sick, and malnourished. My new foster mom took great care of me and after several months of medication, I started to come out of my shell. I’m a little shy around humans at first, but I get along great with my foster cat siblings. I am friendly to everyone I come across, and I never growl or pick fights. I LOVE to eat and play. My favorite thing to do is to flop on the floor for belly rubs just out of reach of my foster mom. Then I stare at her with my big eyes and she can’t resist, she has to get up and pet me! She says that I have the softest belly fur ever. I need a loving and calm forever home, with belly rubs included. Do you have room for me?”
